Sasin School of Management, together with sponsor SCG Chemicals (SCGC), announced the launch of the Bangkok Business Challenge (BBC) 2025 powered by SCGC. Celebrating its 23rd year, the event remains Asia’s longest-running global student startup competition.
This year’s theme, “Growing Impactful Ventures,” aims to spotlight business solutions that tackle social, environmental, and economic challenges. Scheduled for May 22–24, 2025, the event will be held at Sasin’s Bangkok campus and welcomes teams from across the globe.

The competition encourages fresh ideas, promotes cross-border collaboration, and supports the global scaling of promising startups. Nearly half of this year’s competing teams focus on fields like MedTech, HealthTech, AgriTech, and AI.
Dibyendu Bose, Deputy Director of Strategy, Innovation & Impact at Sasin, said the school continues its commitment to shaping leaders who create real-world change. He pointed out the strong representation from emerging industries this year.
Dr. Suracha Udomsak, Chief Operations and Innovation Officer at SCGC, highlighted the company’s role in advancing sustainable innovation through efforts like its Green Polymer™ line and high-performance SMX™ technology. He shared that the partnership with Sasin is helping nurture startups that meet today’s global needs.
The 2025 edition received 308 applications from 82 academic institutions, marking an 11% rise compared to last year. Among them, 32 universities joined for the first time. A panel of judges will review the submissions, with winning teams earning more than USD 42,000 in prize money along with prestigious honours like HM The King’s Award and HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Sustainability Award.
