The Digital Currency Conference 2025 is scheduled for 28–29 May at The Athenee Hotel Bangkok. Over 400 delegates from more than 60 central banks, state agencies, and private firms will attend the two-day event.
The conference will explore key topics in digital finance, including the rollout of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), stablecoin oversight, and private-public cooperation. Sessions will also cover risk controls and cutting-edge technologies like quantum computing and artificial intelligence. Cross-border use of stablecoins such as USDT and practical wallet applications are expected to feature in the discussions.
Delegates will engage in panel talks, workshops, invite-only roundtables, and networking sessions. The programme also includes a gala dinner, award presentations, and a tour of the Bank of Thailand’s banknote printing display.

Thailand is also tightening controls on crypto crimes. Authorities recently passed emergency rules targeting illegal foreign crypto operators. Offenders may face up to three years in prison or fines of 300,000 baht. The Thai Securities and Exchange Commission now holds greater authority to freeze suspicious transactions and demand scam-related reports from service providers.
New policies now require banks, mobile operators, and social platforms to help fight digital fraud. At the same time, Thailand remains open to blockchain innovation, including trials in securities and potential development of a state-issued stablecoin backed by short-term government bonds.
The Bangkok event follows previous editions. In September 2024, the conference in London focused on practical digital currency use and user needs. Sessions addressed regulations, tokenisation, and public-private coordination. It was followed by a dedicated AI conference looking into how artificial intelligence is shaping the digital money space.
The 2023 conference in Mexico City highlighted digital currency architecture and brought global regulators and tech firms together.
The 2025 edition in Bangkok will feature companies such as CIPHER-CORE, Inc., which will present its full encryption solution designed for CBDC systems.
