Italy has arrived in full force at THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2025, rolling out a showcase of premium products and culinary experiences aimed at strengthening food business partnerships across Thailand and the ASEAN region.

The event, held at Bangkok’s IMPACT Exhibition Centre from May 27 to 31, features 38 Italian food companies under one pavilion, highlighting everything from regional specialties to globally recognized staples. According to Nation Thailand, the initiative reflects Italy’s long-term strategy to grow its food export footprint in Southeast Asia.

A Taste of Italy in the Heart of Bangkok

Step into the Italian Pavilion and you’re greeted with the aromas of black truffle, aged cheeses, and artisan olive oil. Brands on display include:

  • Sabatino and Selektia Tartufi – truffle products

  • Pastificio Granoro – artisan pasta

  • Basso Fedele & Figli – extra virgin olive oils

  • Cirio – premium tomato sauces

  • Acetificio Andrea Milano – balsamic vinegars

  • Caseificio Ghidetti – Grana Padano and other traditional cheeses

But this isn’t just a tasting tour. Italian exporters are actively pursuing new distribution, retail, and hospitality partnerships across Thailand and the broader region.

Food as Cultural Diplomacy

Alongside the business meetings and product pitches, the Italian Pavilion is serving up immersive culinary experiences:

  • Live cooking shows by chefs from Italy’s ALMA Food School

  • Pizza-making demonstrations

  • Wine pairing classes

  • Tastings hosted by Thai partners like Gourmet One and Food Delite

On May 29, the Future Food Experience+ stage in Hall 5 will host a panel discussion titled “Italian Cuisine: A Cultural Treasure and UNESCO Heritage Candidate,” underscoring Italy’s ongoing campaign to have its food traditions recognized as part of humanity’s intangible cultural heritage.

“This is about more than trade,” said an Italian Embassy spokesperson. “We see food as a bridge — one that connects cultures and communities.”

Why This Matters

Thailand’s food and beverage market is booming — and international producers are paying attention. With its growing middle class, thriving tourism sector, and deep appreciation for quality cuisine, Thailand is increasingly seen as a launchpad for Southeast Asia.

Italy, already a top global exporter of premium food products, is positioning itself to meet rising demand for authentic, high-quality ingredients in the region’s homes, restaurants, and supermarkets.

For Thai buyers, chefs, and food entrepreneurs, the Italian Pavilion isn’t just a booth — it’s a gateway to new ideas, partnerships, and products that blend tradition with innovation.
