Thailand Shines Again as ‘Destination of the Year’ at TTG Asia Travel Awards 2024

Bangkok, 27 September 2024Thailand has proudly claimed the ‘Destination of the Year’ title at the TTG Travel Awards 2024, adding yet another accolade to its growing list of international recognitions. The prestigious award celebrates Thailand’s outstanding contributions to the travel industry and its continuous efforts in tourism development.

Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and the South Pacific, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), accepted the award on behalf of the nation at the 33rd Annual TTG Travel Awards 2024 Ceremony and Gala Dinner, held at the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre in Bangkok last night.

Presented under the Outstanding Achievement Awards category, the ‘Destination of the Year’ honour recognizes the most exceptional destination in the region, acknowledging Thailand’s proactive efforts in promoting and advancing the tourism sector. The selection was made by TTG’s editorial team, who closely monitor trends and activities within the global travel community.

This is not the first time Thailand has been acknowledged with this award; the country has previously received the title in 1998, 2002, 2006, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2018, making this its ninth win.

In addition to this recognition, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has been honoured with numerous TTG Travel Awards over the years, including accolades for “Best Travel Marketing Effort” and “Best National Tourism Organisation (NTO).”

First established in 1989, the TTG Travel Awards is Asia-Pacific’s leading and longest-running awards program in the travel industry. It recognizes excellence across three main categories: Travel Supplier, Travel Agency, and Outstanding Achievement, celebrating individuals and organizations that have made a lasting impact on the travel industry.
