Summer Palace at InterContinental Bangkok presents a standout dim sum experience in the heart of the city. The restaurant’s all-you-can-eat menu offers a wide range of handcrafted Cantonese dishes at 1,150++ baht per person during lunch and dinner hours.
Helming the kitchen are Executive Chinese Chef Shui Wing Yau and Dim Sum Chef Pui Kwan Chan. With deep roots in Hong Kong’s culinary world, they aim to bring an authentic yet refined take on Cantonese cuisine. Chef Shui, who has earned Michelin stars in both Hong Kong and Shanghai, applies decades of experience to this menu.
The dim sum spread showcases various preparation techniques, including steaming, baking, stir-frying, and deep-frying. Delicate har gao dumplings display fine craftsmanship, while the black truffle dumplings reflect subtle modern twists. Options like wok-fried turnip cake with XO sauce and king crab spring rolls add both flavour and texture to the meal.
Diners start the experience by selecting one dish each from appetisers, soups, main courses, and desserts. Barbecued pork ribs with honey glaze offer a soft texture and balanced sweetness. The jellyfish with chilli and cucumber adds contrast through crispness and light heat.
